General Questions

What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)?

The treatment is designed to assist the function of the lymphatic system by facilitating the movement of lymph fluid through the vessels and nodes. It is especially effective in treating general inflammation, swelling, and bloating throughout the body. This helps reduce discomforts and detox the body. It is also used for post-surgical edema, scar tissue and reduction of post-operative swelling.

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) offers several health benefits including reducing swelling and fluid retention, promoting the removal of bodily toxins, and enhancing immune system function. It is particularly beneficial for individuals suffering from lymphedema, and can also aid in recovery after surgery by alleviating swelling and pain. Additionally, MLD can help improve skin texture, boost circulation, and reduce stress and fatigue by promoting relaxation. This therapy is gentle and soothing, making it suitable for a wide range of individuals seeking wellness and relief.

Everyone. Whatever your personal goals are you will reach them faster and maximize the effectiveness of your efforts if you work MLD into your self-care routine or fitness protocol.

If you want to feel lean, reduce inflammation, reduce bloating, have vibrant radiating skin, improve digestion and nutrient absorption – maintain a healthy lymphatic system.

The lymphatic system is the body’s defense and waste removal system. It is a network of tiny highways that carry a fluid called lymph throughout our body to remove waste, toxins, and excess fluid from our tissues. In the same manner that blood flows through blood vessels, lymph flows through lymphatic vessels. In fact, lymphatic vessels work right alongside blood vessels. The lymphatic system also plays a crucial role in supporting the immune system. As it removes this waste it provides biofeedback to the body to trigger an immune response where required. This very important system has a secret though, it has no pump and requires help to activate it. This is where we come in.

Unless stated so, all of the before and after pictures are from a single session. The pics have not been altered and we will show you them to you at the end of your treatment. Also, our technique is designed to keep your body draining up to 10 days after your appointment. So, in reality, as long as you are doing your homework (working out, eating right, and hydrating) these results should get even better. We like to call MLD the gift that keeps on giving.

We also suggest you pay attention to your “peak day” as we call it. This means whatever day you wake up feeling and looking your best so that if you want to book us prior to an important event or vacation you will know the correct amount of days to do so beforehand.

We do not advertise this as a weight loss treatment or body slimming treatment. Although our technique can help improve digestion and speed up metabolism in conjunction with healthy diet and exercise routine. What you do at home will largely depend on your results and how long they last. Clients that stick to a healthy lifestyle will benefit from our treatment for up to 4 weeks.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) offers numerous benefits during pregnancy, making it a worthwhile consideration for expectant mothers. It effectively reduces swelling, commonly seen in feet, ankles, and hands, by enhancing the circulation of bodily fluids. MLD also improves overall blood flow, which is beneficial for both the mother and the fetus. Additionally, it can alleviate pain in common stress points such as the back and legs by easing fluid retention.

Beyond physical benefits, MLD boosts the immune system—a crucial aspect of maintaining maternal health. Moreover, the gentle and soothing nature of MLD procedures promotes relaxation and reduces stress, contributing to the emotional well-being of the mother. However, it’s important for pregnant women to consult with their healthcare provider before beginning MLD to ensure it is safe and appropriate for their specific pregnancy needs.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is highly beneficial for post-operative clients as it aids in the recovery process. MLD helps reduce swelling and bruising by enhancing the removal of lymphatic fluid from the tissues. This not only speeds up healing but also decreases pain and discomfort. Additionally, MLD can prevent the formation of scar tissue and promote smoother skin recovery. It is a gentle therapy, making it suitable soon after surgery to facilitate quicker recuperation. As always, patients should consult their surgeon before starting MLD to ensure it aligns safely with their specific post-operative care plan.

You can get a recommendation from your treatment specialist at the end of your visit, but generally speaking, we say every 3-4 weeks to maintain the maximum benefit of the treatment.

We offer many different services. All of them use MLD as the foundation. Some target specific parts of the body, the whole body, the face, etc. We believe in and want to showcase the power of a healthy lymphatic system so, for now, that is what we do. We are continually finding new innovative ways to do this and reinventing our existing services at all times. Be sure to stay tuned to our Instagram to see what we are coming up with!

Yes! Many clients use our treatments to look their best for various events they attend but also to recover. Our treatments significantly alleviate hangover symptoms through detoxification and relaxation. MLD speeds up the removal of alcohol byproducts from the body, reducing inflammation and water retention, which helps lessen common hangover symptoms like headaches. Infrared saunas help eliminate toxins by inducing sweating at lower temperatures and boost circulation, which enhances the distribution of nutrients and oxygen for faster recovery. Additionally, the soothing heat from the sauna relaxes muscle tension and reduces stress, providing a potent combination for quick and effective hangover relief.

Pre Appointment Questions

Is there anything I need to do to prepare for the treatment or are there any restrictions before or after treatment?

We highly advise that all clients consume at least one gallon of water for the 24 hours leading up to their treatment, as well as, the two days following the treatment. Avoid drinking any alcohol during this period of time as well. This will aid in achieving the maximum benefit from their treatment. There are no other restrictions that one is required to follow before or after the treatment. All regular activities may be resumed immediately after the treatment.

Yes you can. We leave it to the preference of the client. Some clients find it uncomfortable because of the pressure being place on the lower abdomen, and some find relief from the treatment.

Our recommendation to our clients is to plan your treatment for 2-3 days before your event. This will allow at least 2 days after your treatment to get your water intake that is needed for maximum benefit (you will be using the bathroom a lot!), and that is normally when most people find that they look and feel the best!

Post Appointment Questions

What is the soonest I can come in for the next treatment?

It takes the body approximately 10-14 days to go through the full detoxification and lymphatic system regulation process, so we don’t recommend doing it before then unless otherwise indicated by your treatment specialist.

Yes! We get this one often and it makes us proud because this is detox in action. The treatment doing its work. Occasionally some people will feel some mild nausea or other related symptoms 1-2 days after the treatment. This is the body detoxifying and regulating the lymphatic system. These symptoms normally last 12-24 hours and then you feel great! Most people do not complain of soreness, but this can also depend on the person and situation. If you are not properly hydrated prior to your session you may experience headaches or fatigue. Making sure to increase your water intake will help with this. These symptoms should subside within 24 hours.
