Since my teenage years, I have struggled with celiac disease, facing a constant combination of pain, bloating, headaches, fatigue, and weakness depending on the meals I ate or how they were prepared. Every time I sat down to eat, it felt like I was taking a gamble with my body and its reactions. Consequently, I delved into extensive self-research on holistic alternatives, hoping to heal myself and dream of being able to enjoy a meal without fear. To some extent, I achieved success by discovering an anti-inflammatory diet that partially alleviated my symptoms.
However, everything changed when I had a baby. Five years ago, I underwent abdominal plastic surgery to address the excess skin and torn muscles caused by giving birth to my 10-pound baby fourteen years prior (which I jokingly remind him of on a daily basis).
THE JOURNEY
Unfortunately, my body struggled to heal properly after the surgery, leading to almost a year of excessive bloating that left me frustrated and desperate for a solution. Determined to find relief, I once again began researching alternative methods to alleviate this issue. It was at this point that a friend, or maybe an angel, suggested trying Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD). After a few sessions, I was captivated by its effectiveness. Further research led me to the realization that I had stumbled upon a hidden treasure – the lymphatic system. This intricate and magical system, rarely spoken about, plays a crucial role in our well-being. I knew that my experience so far was only scratching the surface, and that there was much more to discover. Each practitioner I visited brought a unique perspective to the treatment, but I couldn’t find someone who could fully grasp and execute it in the way I desired. This led me to embark on a journey to find the answer I was seeking. For over two and a half years, I traveled to explore and study lymphatic drainage and massage techniques from Colombia, Brazil, and Korea. This journey led me to seek out and learn from various professionals who offered these treatments.
